Installation Instructions
  1. Install Quake2   -from your Quake2 CD by ID Software (Buy Quake II from the links in the top right)
  2. Install Quake 2 3.20 patch + Xatrix MissionPack if those maps are desired (maps must be copied to baseq2\maps folder)
  3. Install TFQ  (Install the TFQv5.00 version first, this is required)
  4. Install TFQ Update patch TFQv5.10
  5. Install TFQ Update patch TFQv5.20
     
  • To run TFQ right click on TFQ2.exe (found in your Quake2 install directory) then place a shortcut to TFQ2.exe on your desktop, by selecting 'send to Desktop' in your right click menu.
    Double Click on your TFQ2.exe shortcut file to start Quake2 with the Transformers Quake II mod enabled. Then Start a New Single Player Game to start playing TFQ,
    Or join in with Multiplayer Games by finding servers on Q2Servers.com HERE

  1. Download the TFQ2 Server Browser program Here!
  2. Save to your Quake2 installation directory
  3. In the 'Config' dialog box put your default Quake2 directory and desired executable
  4. Join TFQ servers playing mostly on weekends!
     
  • If you receive the error 'This application has failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem'
    then you need Microsofts Visual C++ 2008 SP1 package
     
  • As always you can join in with Multiplayer Games by finding servers on Q2Servers.com HERE

Quake2 Palette for Photoshop 3

Here is the zipped file that contains the 256-color palette that Q2 uses. When viewed in Photoshop 3 (as the color table), it will appear as it does in most other editing programs, but upside-down. This is what I needed to solve my color problems, it may help some of you as well. It can be unzipped wherever is most convenient.
